Following the torrential rains and flooding that hit several regions of the country on the night of September 8 to 9, 2025, ACA member insurance companies are fully mobilized to assist policyholders affected by the floods and process claims as quickly as possible.
From the very first day, several hundred compensation claims were filed.
At this stage, ACA member companies report that more than 1,000 claims have already been opened, 85% of which relate to home insurance and around 15% to auto insurance. Given that the situation is still evolving, it remains difficult to provide a consolidated figure. However, initial conservative estimates suggest that insured losses will exceed €8 million.
From the outset, companies activated their crisis plans in order to absorb the peak in activity and quickly come to the aid of policyholders. For example, the measures put in place by member companies include:
« ACA expresses its solidarity with the individuals and families affected by these storms. We would also like to thank the emergency services. Our member companies were on the ground from the outset to support policyholders affected by these floods. The priority is to speed up the opening of claims files and to quickly identify and deal with the most serious situations, particularly in terms of rehousing. We know that further claims will be reported in the coming days and our members remain fully mobilized to respond to this challenge. »
Marc Hengen, CEO of ACA
