Why do the specificities of the insurance sector require a sector-specific approach and a specific regulator?

The specificities of the insurance sector require a sector-specific approach and a specific regulator. To better understand the importance of supporting this Luxembourgish model, Léa Zanda, Legal and Tax Advisor at ACA, invited Rejean Besner, Managing Director at Swiss Re Europe and President of the Reinsurance Commission at ACA, to share his insights in a new episode of ‘ACA Voices #Legislatives2023.’ Together, they discuss the importance and advantages of this model, particularly in terms of attractiveness for industry stakeholders, preparedness for regulatory changes, and overall sector success.

ACA and the Luxembourgish (re)insurance sector expect future Luxembourgish political leaders to be attentive to various issues and challenges faced by the sector both locally and internationally. Specifically, to ensure that the sector maintains its attractiveness and dynamism while serving the best interests of the country’s society, ACA presents 9 demands to political parties in preparation for the legislative elections in October 2023.
