ACA alongside the University of Luxembourg: a long-term commitment to the talent of tomorrow

On 20 November 2025, the ACA – Association of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies in Luxembourg – took part in the annual Partnership Event hosted by the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF) of the University of Luxembourg.

On this occasion, Laura Barre, member of the ACA Executive Committee, presented the ACA Award for Best Student in the Master of Science in Finance and Economics – Risk Management to Anahit Hovakimyan, in recognition of her outstanding academic performance.

The ACA’s participation in this event reflects a strong belief: the future of the insurance sector depends on high-quality education closely aligned with market developments.

In her speech, Laura Barre highlighted the importance of specialised programmes such as the Risk Management Master’s and the newly launched Master in Actuarial Science:

“These programmes are essential to building the advanced expertise needed to meet tomorrow’s challenges.”

ACA places great emphasis on supporting students with strong analytical, regulatory, and technical capabilities all of which are necessary to navigate key transformations in the insurance industry, including digitalisation, sustainability, and systemic risk management.

The event brought together over 100 participants from academia, industry, and public institutions. It offered a moment to reflect on the concrete results of close cooperation between the University and private-sector partners, through scholarships, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.

“Together, we are building an environment that fosters dialogue, academic excellence, and innovation,” stated Prof. Katalin Ligeti, Dean of the FDEF.

For the ACA, supporting such initiatives means strengthening the link between academic training and professional practice, while ensuring that Luxembourg remains well equipped with qualified professionals to address the sector’s evolving needs.

The ACA Award presented to Anahit Hovakimyan recognises not only her dedication and perseverance throughout the programme, but also the broader commitment of the insurance and reinsurance community to promoting excellence and encouraging the next generation of industry professionals.
