The Luxembourg insurance sector is opening its doors to you. One day, mixed teams, a real challenge to solve, and concrete collaborations to be won. Apply for the ACA Innovation Award 2026.
On 27 October 2026, at Luxexpo The Box, several selected startups will take on the same challenge: to put their solution to the test over the course of one day, in direct contact with Luxembourg insurance professionals, and to present, at the end of the day, a refined proposal adapted to the realities of the sector.
The brief handed to them on the day itself is no theoretical exercise. It has been prepared with the ACA Innovation Working Group, which brings together the heads of innovation from the market’s leading players, in order to reflect concrete needs and challenges facing the insurance sector in Luxembourg.
The format is deliberately immersive. Each team brings together a representative from the startup, staff from ACA member insurers, and ACA associate members — experts who are fully involved in our sector on a daily basis. Together, they refine the proposal, test it against the real constraints of the Luxembourg market, and present it at a closing ceremony in the evening, held in the presence of the Minister for Digitalisation, Stéphanie Obertin.
This is not a generic hackathon. This is not just another showcase. It is a day of real work, with real decision-makers, on issues that will shape the insurance of tomorrow.

Launched in 2020 by the Association des Compagnies d’Assurances et de Réassurances du Luxembourg (ACA), the ACA Innovation Award has already supported more than 36 startups. Over the last two editions, all winners and participants have forged concrete ties with players in the Luxembourg marketplace partnerships, pilots, deployments. Not mere business cards exchanged at a cocktail reception: real collaborations, initiated in the heat of the day and carried well beyond it.
This is the strength of the format: by working side by side for an entire day, trust builds naturally. And in Luxembourg, trust accelerates everything.
The 2026 edition explores the full journey of data in insurance: collection, structuring, exploitation by AI, and transformation into value for clients, business teams, and regulatory compliance. With a requirement specific to the Luxembourg context: innovating within a framework of trust, in compliance with professional secrecy, personal data protection, and our sector-specific characteristics.
The ACA Innovation Working Group has identified several priority needs. If your solution addresses one of these needs, then our sector most likely needs you:
These categories guide the selection process without constraining it. A solution strongly aligned with the overall theme will always be considered, even if it does not fit perfectly within one of these frameworks.
The ACA Innovation Award works because the selection process is demanding. We are looking for relevant and innovative startups to introduce to Luxembourg players in the sector. It is precisely this element of discovery that generates interest and the collaborations that have followed each edition.
If you are looking to establish a presence in Luxembourg or to make yourself known within our ecosystem, if you want to test your solution against real insurance professionals, if you want to achieve in a few months what sometimes takes years to build: the ACA Innovation Award is made for you.
You can apply directly via the online form below, or be recommended by one of our sourcing partners: the LHoFT and Plug and Play.
The process takes place in 3 steps:
Yes, absolutely. Startups can come from anywhere, Luxembourg included. What matters is the relevance of your solution to the theme and the needs identified by the sector.
No. There is no minimum development stage required. What matters most is the quality of your approach and how well it aligns with the challenges facing the sector.
No. You can apply directly via the online form.
There is no cash prize. What you gain is far more lasting: strong visibility among key players in the Luxembourg insurance industry, direct connections with decision-makers, and a real opportunity to turn the day into a concrete partnership. That is what previous winners have managed to achieve.
Applications are open until mid-June 2026. The earlier you apply, the better.
